How to make fresh tortillas at home
- Fresh masa, a tortilla press, a tortilla warmer, and maybe a scale
- Open the press
- Line with plastic wrap or a cut-open zip-lock bag
- Roll 35-55g of masa. 40g makes about a 5-6" tortilla
- Place the ball slightly off-center
- Press! You don't need to press too hard.
- Open and peel
- Cook in dry skillet over med. high to high heat. It's ok if they're ugly!
- ESSENTIAL: immediately cover in warmer and leave to steam.
- No warmer? Use a clean towel and pot.
- Enjoy!
